In Sicily food is not just simple fuel for energy. Food is the soul of this island. The table where you meet friends, where family gathers, where words are exchanged and amazing tastes are enjoyed. A lunch of two and half hours is considered normal in Sicily. And while you eat, you talk about what to eat the next occasion, next christmas, next summer and what you eat in the past. Food gathers people and get everybody to slow down as the meal is often several dishes and it is not something you just grab and run.
