Castelmola is a nice baroque norman village above Taormina. When you come from Catania you see the small village on the hill to the left, famous for its almond wine. I like Castelmola very much and visit the village often, especially off season it is an amazing place to just be. I went here sunday morning, walked around a little and eat lunch at an amazing restaurant by the church piazza, infront of the famous bar Bar Turrisi. Best is actually to eat dinner here and come afternoon as you can witness an amazing sunset. Here you get an amazing view down to Taormina, Etna and all the way to Calabria.

You can walk back to Taormina. Just look for the castle ruins on the hills on the other side, and after them you are back to Taormina centre. Approximately one hour to walk.

Castelmola ?r en trevlig barocknormandisk by ovanf?r Taormina.
